The first day at Smarties Early Learning Centre is an exciting milestone in your child\u2019s life. Your child is embarking on a journey that will lead them on many roads of discovery and learning. As wonderful as this new experience may be, it can also be quite stressful for your child. New situations and change can, at times, be unsettling for all of us. For many children this may be their first experience of separation from parents or caregivers at home.<\/p>\n

While most children settle in right away, some children (and families) will find this experience more challenging than others and it may take them a little bit more time to adjust to the new environment. At Smarties Early Learning Centre, our staff will do all that we can to ensure you and your child feel at ease during this transition to make it as smooth as possible.<\/p>\n

Whilst some children may settle in really easily, some may react more extremely than others, but both situations are completely normal. Your child may settle right in, or take days or even weeks to settle into their new routine and environment at Smarties Early Learning Centre. Some children may become overwhelmed, while others may show excitement on their first day. We like to remind our families to convey a positive attitude as young children are aware of your feelings. Your enthusiasm will assure your child that being at Smarties Early Learning Centre will be a fun and exciting experience for them.[\/vc_column_text] <\/div>\n<\/div>

We highly encourage families to engage with their child and talk to them about their new environment, highlighting the excitement of the experiences, learning environments and engaging with other children to ensure a smooth transition to Smarties Early Learning Centre. It is important for families to maintain a clear good-bye routine and reassure them that you will return to collect them whilst modelling a positive reaction to this.<\/p>\n

Our educators will also be available to provide support and assistance as your child is settling in to Smarties Early Learning Centre, making your child\u2019s first days happy days.[\/vc_column_text] <\/div>\n<\/div>

\n [vc_column_text css=””]We ensure children and families are provided with an orientation procedure that allows the family to transition into the Service positively and informatively, meeting the children and families\u2019 individual needs. Visiting our Centre before your child\u2019s first day allows your child to explore their new environment, meet their friendly educators and engage in the exciting activities they will soon enjoy. This assists children in settling in on their first day whilst they adjust to their new environment, educators and friends.[\/vc_column_text] <\/div>\n<\/div>
